17 Powerful Ways Mindful High-Performers Think and Behave Differently
What happens when a type-A, over-achieving, perfectionist adopts ancient meditative practices like mindfulness, equanimity, and compassion?
Either his head explodes, or he becomes a Mindful High-Performer (MHP).
So what is a Mindful High-Performer?
An MHP brings together the best of “hustle” mentality with the teachings and practices of ancient wisdom traditions. He sees that in order to best serve the world, a little bit of hustle and personal development can be helpful.
An MHP is not really into spirituality, at least not your typical, Bali-hipster kind of spirituality. He’s not interested in crystals or connecting with the universal cosmic consciousness. He doesn’t want to find a guru, or follow blindly to some religious dogma. While he may not want to re-align his chakras, he does care about his mental and emotional well-being, and cultivating a strong foundation of inner peace.
He is aware of the suffering in the world, both within himself and in others, and wants to help people break free from compulsive behaviors and mental anguish. He knows that true happiness is not found in gaining material things, but exists only in the context of a purposeful life.
He is also not totally infatuated with fame and fortune. He doesn’t care about fancy cars, expensive yachts, and beach-side mansions. While he is not working to get the corner office and the c-level title, he does understand that in order to change the world, it helps to interact with it. He knows that money and resources are not trivial, but are essential ingredients for making a real impact on the world.
MHPs are a different breed of spiritual practitioner, and a different breed of business leader. They are able to straddle both worlds, and move fluidly between. In their uniqueness lies their ability to stand out from the crowd and achieve great things.
What are some of the ways MHPs think and behave differently?
