Silence (1-10 minutes)

This can be as simple as sitting comfortably and following your breath for a few minutes. You also just sit, with no agenda and nothing to do. The point is to have some time for stillness, silence, and cultivating awareness of the present moment.

Affirmations (1-10 minutes)

This step is about creating a list of phrases that reminds you of your highest potential, or that reminds you of wisdom and teachings you don’t want to forget. Here are two examples from the Miracle Morning book. But I encourage you to find other examples and find what works for you!

Visualizations (1-10 minutes)

This step is about spending time visualizing yourself being successful at your goals, and acheiving success in your life. You could visualize what you need to do that day, and imagine it going well. You could also envision your dream life. Where are you living, who are you living with, what’s your morning like, how do you feel in that ideal future.

Exercise (1-10 minutes)

The key ingredient for this step is to MOVE your body. Whether it’s stretching, jogging, powerlifting, or dancing, as long as you’re moving your body, then it’s good in my book!

Recommend resources:

Reading (1-10 minutes)

Just find any book that inspires you, or causes you to think! This step is about feeding your mind with information that will help you grow as a person.

Here are some of my favorite personal development books:

  • The Joy of Living, by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche

  • Deep Work, by Cal Newport

  • Mindset, by Carol Dweck

  • The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, by Mark Manson

  • Happiness, by Matthieu Ricard

  • The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, by Marie Kondo

  • Wherever You Go, There You Are, by Jon Kabat-Zinn

Scribing / Journaling (1-10 minutes)

One of the most common traits of successful people (outside of having some sort of meditation practice) is journaling. For this, you can do whatever form of journaling you like.

Some ideas for how to get started:

  • Free flow journaling. Just write, doesn’t matter what it is.

  • Gratitude Journaling. 3 things you’re thankful for.

  • What went well yesterday. What do you hope to achieve today.

  • Find prompts to give you guidance.
